Likes, views, and why OerSocial will not fake the numbers

OerSocial shows counts on posts and profiles: likes, replies, reposts, views, followers. Those numbers are there so you can tell whether a post started a conversation. They are not a product we sell, and they are not a thing you should buy from a stranger in a DM.

What the counts mean

A like is a lightweight signal. A reply is a stronger one. A repost puts the post in someone else's feed. Views increment when a post is actually shown. Follower counts change when people follow or unfollow. None of these are a payment.

If a count looks wrong after you delete a post, refresh. If it stays wrong, email support@oersocial.com with the URL. Do not post a thread accusing a neighbor of "throttling" you. We do not run a shadow-ban marketplace.

What is banned

• Buying likes, follows, or views
• Engagement pods that like on a timer
• Extra accounts you operate only to click your own posts
• Apps that log in as you and click around all day

Those tactics are fake engagement. They also look like invalid traffic if ads are anywhere nearby. We do not want that pattern on the site.

What to watch instead

Watch whether people reply with something specific. Watch whether a follow stays a week later. Watch whether you still like the post. Those are human signals. A jump of two thousand likes overnight on a brand-new account is usually a bought number, and it will not help you keep an audience.

Advertising and metrics

We do not place ads on a post because it "went viral." Ads are on editorial pages. Inflating a user post does not earn you an ad unit. It can earn you a removal.

If someone DMs you an offer to "guarantee 10k followers," report it. That offer is a scam even when it "works," because the followers are not people.

OerSocial would rather show smaller honest numbers than a dashboard of fiction. If that is a deal-breaker, this is the wrong community.
